KFA enter a Tough Mudder team to support Help for Heroes

A 40-strong team of KFA Connect staff, friends and family have signed up to take part in Tough Mudder Half, London South at Holmbush Farm, West Sussex on Saturday, the 17th of September 2016.

When we selected our chosen charity for 2016 – Help for Heroes, we wanted to take part in charity fundraising events that involved us making a real effort, both individually and as a team.

We think that this event is a good match!

Tough Mudder Half is not a race, it’s a challenge. Designed to test teamwork and grit on a 5-mile course with obstacles such as ‘Flying Squirrel, ‘Walk the Plank’ and ‘Mud Mile’, it’s all the mud and half the distance of the full 10-mile Tough Mudder.

We even have some Mini Mudders taking part in the one-mile child-friendly version, allowing them to get just as muddy as the rest of us!

KFA Connect donate toys for Cash for Kids 2015

We dropped off a sack full of Christmas gifts that the team have donated to Cash for Kids today…

Cash for Kids is Bauer Radio’s network of local charities, which operate across 21 areas around the UK.

Their mission is to respond to the needs of children in our communities, and aspire to enable all children to live life to the full and achieve their individual potential.

By donating these gifts we hope that these children aged 0-18 who are disabled, disadvantaged or suffering from abuse or neglect will have a better Christmas.

ISO 9001 ‘Making excellence a habit’

We are delighted to have achieved ISO 9001 certification!

Linda, Richard and Nicki attended a special awards ceremony at BSI HQ in Milton Keynes on Tuesday 24th November 2015.

To achieve certification we were independently audited by BSI. This audit involved a thorough review of our internal quality management processes to ensure that we are capable of delivering a service that will consistently meet our customer’s needs and requirements.

“We’re delighted to be able  to certify KFA Connect to ISO 9001″’

“Having worked with Richard Austin and his team over the past few months, it’s apparent that they see this as a real opportunity to provide assurance to their customers about the rigour of the processes they use to deliver the services they provide.”

– Fernando Rose, External Resource Assessor, BSI.

“ISO 9001 applies to every part of our business. It provides structure for our employees and certainty for our customers. Producing  quality work is  something we’re obsessive about and I believe achieving this certification shows our commitment to customer satisfaction and establishing  processes for  continuous improvement.”

– Richard Austin, New Business Director.

Mitutoyo Emergency

In September 2015 out of the blue, Mitutoyo received an email from their hosting provider, their host had entered insolvency and customers were advised that they needed to back up their sites and make alternative arrangements since servers were being switched off.

No small problem for any company in these internet connected times, but Mitutoyo operate a fully integrated Magento e-commerce site, together with several gigabytes of product images, datasheets and links to accounting systems and payment providers.

When Mitutoyo called KFA Connect, we realised immediately that we needed to move fast.  Initial enquiries showed that the server hosting the site could be switched off at any moment so a virtual server was brought online, and a holding page was created to guide visitors to call Mitutoyo directly.

At the same time, a full download of data from the beleaguered site was taken and work began on returning the full site to the internet.

By the Tuesday morning, Mitutoyo were once again receiving orders just three days after the issue was reported.

Graham Horne IT Manager at Mitutoyo was unequivocal:

“KFA really went above and beyond the call of duty.  They assured me that the site would be back online by Tuesday morning and they were as good as their word”.
