A warm KFA welcome for our new Support apprentice, Dan Smith.
Dan joined us this January as a Level 3 Support Trainee (and reduces the average age of the KFA team again, which we are thrilled about).
The new apprenticeship will involve spending a day a week at Bournemouth College and the remainder of the week with our experienced support team, who we are sure will tap into Dan’s skills and initiative to help look after our customers.
Dan joined us after spending a morning with the whole KFA team – as part of our new recruitment initiative.
We felt that spending time with the team instead of a formal interview would give us (and the applicant) more of a chance to get to know each other, what the role is all about and how well suited they are to it. It is also important to us to ensure that the applicant is happy that this is the direction that they would like to go in, as happy staff are far more likely to stay with us for the long-term.
Dan has been building his own PC’s for a few years and he feels that this has helped improve his technical knowledge on computer systems, both hardware and software as well as giving him useful skills in computer diagnostics.
“I am most looking forward to gaining the knowledge and experience to deal with larger, more complex support tasks and identifying and writing fixes for them.”
– and we are sure that he will do just that!
KFA have had enormous success with apprentices in the past. The last three who joined us became permanent employees and valuable members of the team. We find it refreshing to have their youth, new and exciting ideas too – which also helps to keep our team on their toes.
We enjoy challenging our apprentices and watch their skills and careers develop. For KFA the end result for us has been very successful and valuable team members and great colleagues.
