At KFA Connect, we believe in giving back to the community and making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
We are thrilled to announce our support for Ski Across, an incredible initiative supported by the charity Across, which provides exhilarating skiing trips for individuals with special needs.
Recently, KFA Connect made a £1000 donation to Ski Across, and we are excited to share that KFA Director, Richard Austin, has also committed to volunteering (as a self-funding volunteer) on their upcoming trip to Niederau, Austria from January 25th – February 2nd, 2025.
Empowering Individuals with Special Needs
Ski Across, is dedicated to offering unique and unforgettable experiences for people with special needs, whom they affectionately call ‘VIPs’.
These trips are meticulously planned to ensure that every participant, regardless of their level of ability, can enjoy the thrill of skiing in a safe and supportive environment.
A Bigger and Better Trip in 2025
Looking ahead to 2025, Ski Across is planning an even more ambitious trip to Niederau, Austria.
This next adventure promises to be bigger and better, with custom-built ‘jumbo coaches’ replacing air travel to accommodate more VIPs, including those with more complex needs.
These specially designed coaches will ensure that everyone can travel comfortably and participate in the fun and excitement of the slopes.
How You Can Help
Ski Across relies on the generosity of donors and the dedication of volunteers to make these trips possible.
They are currently seeking donations to help fund the adaptive skiing trip for their VIPs.
Every contribution, no matter the size, can make a significant impact on the lives of these individuals, providing them with a chance to experience the joy and freedom of skiing.
Moreover, Ski Across is looking for volunteers* who are eager to join this incredible journey.
Volunteering offers a rewarding opportunity to assist and support VIPs, ensuring they have the best possible experience on and off the slopes.

In response to what inspired him to volunteer for the 2025 trip, Richard said:
“I wanted to do something good for people who don’t have the same opportunities as others. I have never done anything like this before, so am excited to be helping out for such a worthy cause.
I’m looking forward to making new friends and helping people to experience the wonder of being in the mountains on the snow.
I have been told that I need to be able to ski carrying equipment and without poles, and although I do have skiing experience, that will be new for me – so I’ll let you know how I get on!”
– Richard Austin, KFA Director & 2025 Ski Across volunteer
